Why Pick Me

WHY PICK LEE RINGLER?

I was awarded my undergraduate degree from Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh, and my law degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. During law school, I was a member of the Law Review and have two published notes.

I opened Lee Ringler Law Offices in Augusta, GA, in 1979, and have been doing only bankruptcy cases since the mid-80’s You would think that an attorney who has been practicing for 25 years should know more than an attorney with only 10 years experience. But this is not always the case. There are some attorneys who have practiced bankruptcy law for many years, but have never really mastered the subject. There are other attorneys who have pursued a general practice, filing a case now and then.

I am certified in consumer bankruptcy by the American Bankruptcy Board of Certification, a national organization with rigorous requirements for certification.

I have been a member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys (NACBA) since 2005. I just don’t pay dues. I have been a regular attender at NACBA annual conventions and workshops. To my knowledge, this is the only organization devoted to training attorneys who represent debtors.

I have two full-time paralegals on my staff who have been with me more than ten years. Both are certified by the Association of Bankruptcy Judicial Assistants and members for
ten years.

I just do bankruptcy. I’m a specialist. Personal bankruptcy is my Life – 100%.

All I do is personal bankruptcy cases – nothing else. No personal injury cases for me, no wills, no divorce cases – just bankruptcy. Bankruptcy law changes almost daily, and, I’m not complaining, but it’s not easy keeping up. Don’t trust your financial future to a lawyer who does a little of this, and a little of that – choose someone who keeps up on this dynamic, if not confusing area of the law.

I’m completely loyal to my clients – I don’t think I’ve ever represented a creditor in my life.

I never represent commercial interests adverse to consumers. This means, I do not represent banks or finance companies or furniture stores. You’ll never catch me arguing for your interests in the morning, and then showing up on behalf of one of your creditors in the afternoon.

I care. I take pride in my work. This Is Not Just a Job for Me.

wish no one needed my services. I wish no one was overwhelmed by a mountain of debt. I understand that you really don’t want to file for bankruptcy – you’re reading about bankruptcy because you’re not sure how you’re going to make it. A bankruptcy lawyer may be the last person you want to see. But maybe also you’re in a corner right now. Maybe you could live on beans and rice for the next three years and try to pay all those credit card bills. Or, you could make an appointment to talk to me. Maybe there’s another way out.
